Marathon Training Begins

My training for the London Marathon on 26 April 2009 began this week. I hope to give a weekly update here about my progress as well as including any statistics I might have, that will in turn help motivate me as well. Your comments are very welcome too!

I began my training with some short 5k runs through the week and ending with a 10k run on Saturday. After not running right through the summer (except for the occasional haphazard attempt) I’m finding myself very much back to square one and will be slowly progressing my way through to longer runs. I have two half-marathons planned for Feb 3 and Mar 6 too, so there is plenty of incentive to keep training hard. I have a 25 week training plan drawn up, which will be a challenge to keep up with – but right now my motivation is high.
